The Glenn Beck Program is the "fusion of entertainment and enlightenment" and airs weekdays right after Richmond Morning News on 1140 WRVA.If it’s in the news, it’s on the table. Compelling, unique, and multifaceted, Glenn Beck talks about the day's events with passion, humor and sarcasm. He astonishes even those closest to him with his on-air frankness. Beck expounds on spirituality, family values, and politics.
Beck is a real radio guy, and as a kid living in Washington, he taped himself pretending to be a disc jockey. When he was 13, his hobby paid off and he won the "Be on the Air for an Hour" contest at a local station. Soon after, he got his first real radio gig, working six-hour shifts on the weekends. Glenn went on to do Top 40 morning shows in Baltimore, Houston, Phoenix, Washington D.C., and New Haven, Connecticut, but always knew he was meant to talk. In 1999, Glenn began his talk radio career at WFLA in Tampa, Florida and in just a little over a year had the number one Arbitron rated show.
He’s rubbed elbows with Presidents Reagan and Bush, appeared on many national network TV shows, acted in an episode of "Cheers" and wrote a monologue for Bob Hope. Glenn opened the first soup kitchen in Connecticut dedicated to women and children. His "Crusades" for kids have raised millions of dollars, and his “Crayon Coalition” and annual "Stuff-A-Bus" campaign are favorites in both the community and media. Beck, 37 is married and has two teenage daughters.
Listen each evening for frank, fun, and fascinating talk from one of America's hottest rising radio stars, Glenn Beck.
